Kuishinbō (食いしん坊) is an endearing, playful Japanese term that loosely translates to “a person who loves to eat” or “a foodie with a big appetite”—not just in terms of quantity, but also in their enthusiasm and passion for good food.

Hi there! I’m Maya, a recipe writer and food photographer based in the greater Seattle area—though Kitsap County is my ‘home sweet home’. My love for all things food and beverage has kept me in the kitchen for as long as I can remember, eventually leading me across the country to Johnson & Wales University, where I studied Food Science and Product Development.
My love for food photography began during COVID when I started documenting the meals I made for my family during quarantine. After snapping thousands of photos of my own creations, I’m now thrilled to capture delicious moments for others!
If I’m not in the kitchen cooking or in the studio shooting, you’ll probably find me in the garden pulling weeds and planting seeds, exploring new places with my childhood sweetheart fiancé, dominating family and friends in a card game, or just lounging on the couch with my cats (Bagel & Babka).
